In a DOVE Portable Gold & Diamond Processing Plant, every component is crucial for efficient operations and proper processing of gold & diamond ore, which are important to achieve high recovery of the gold & diamond production. DOVE’s unique designs are embedded in each of the Portable Wash Plants’ components to ensure the highest recovery of the gold and diamond production.

Ore feeding, Sizing (screening and classification), Concentration of coarse gold and diamonds, Concentration of fine diamonds and Final concentrate cleanup and smelting of gold are the most important steps that are involved in alluvial gold and diamond ore processing by the professional processing plants. Overlooking any of these steps will result in reduced recovery, as well as the loss of the valuable minerals.

The concentration stage is achieved by a method scientifically called “Gravity Separation”, which separates minerals or metals from one another, or valuable minerals apart from the gangue, using their difference in specific gravity, which can be a wet or a dry process.

DOVE Portable Gold and Diamond Wash Plants are configured with Multi-Stage Concentrating modules, which include DOVE Multi-Stage Jig Concentrators for the recovery of nugget Gold and Coarse Diamond (+2 mm), as well as DOVE Advanced Centrifugal Concentrators for the recovery of Fine Gold (2 mm – 0.04 mm) and VBS® Concentrator for the recovery of fine diamonds (2 mm – 0.05 mm). DOVE Plants ensure the highest recovery of gold production in the industry.

The major components of DOVE Portable Gold and Diamond Wash Plants, based on the crucial steps required in a processing plant, consist of the following:

STEP 1: ORE FEED

1. ORE FEED HOPPER:

is a bin designed to receive the ore from earth moving equipment, such as conveyors, gravel pumps, excavators, loaders or dump trucks, and used to supplement the wash plant in ore. The feeding from this hopper can be a wet or dry type depending on the project’s requirements, and its capacity will vary according to the plant’s processing capacity (metric tons per hour) solids.

DOVE Ore Feed Hoppers are supplied in a wide range of capacities and designs. They are engineered as interconnecting disjoint parts that can fit in standard shipping containers and are cost efficient for freight, and are easy and rapid to assemble, install and disassemble on the mining site.

DOVE Ore Feed Hoppers are fabricated with heavy cage of steel 5-9 mm, to ensure their durability and to stand severe conditions at the mining site. Additionally, they are designed to be easily connected to high-pressure Hydraulic Spray-Jets System, Hydraulic Manifold and piping system. A hopper’s slurry outlet is designed for ease of connection to the Static or Vibrating Grizzly.

2. HYDRAULIC MONITOR:

is a powerful cannon designed to spray jets of highly pressurized water and is used to break the clay contained in the ore at the feeding stage of the plant. The cannons are used in wet ore feeding systems and are particularly effective when handling ores with high clay content. Additionally, they assist with the logistics of the slurry ore going through the Ore Feed Channels, onto the next step of processing.

DOVE Monitors’ bodies are cast in high carbon hardened steel and have a bronze head. Also, in order to facilitate working for long hours under extreme weather conditions, they are supplied with an Operator Cabin Stand Structure.

DOVE Monitors are rugged and have a proven history of durability and high efficiency when handling recycled water at the mining site, which contains sand and clay.

3. ORE CHANNEL

also known as Slurry Channel, uses gravity to rapidly transport the slurry ore from one processing stage to another of the plant, such as from the screening stage to the classification stage. DOVE Ore Feed Channels are exclusively designed to break clay with their hydraulic network and High Pressure Spray Jet System configuration.

DOVE Ore Feed Channels are fabricated in numerous dimensions and are designed to handle a variety of processing plant capacities, ore logistics volume requirements, with respect to the specific ore characteristics and specific site conditions.

DOVE Ore Feed Channels are entirely rubber lined, which accelerates the logistics of the slurry ore, eliminates the friction, reduces the wear of the steel channel, and eliminates clogging of solid particles in the channel. These unique and unparalleled features make DOVE processing plants a preferred solution for every mining operation.

STEP 2: SCREENING (SIZING):

1. GRIZZLY SEPARATORS

are used as the first screening stage of DOVE Gold and Diamond Processing Plants. They are designed to screen oversized rocks contained in the ore to ensure efficient processing and recovery of the minerals in the next stages. The screen sizes vary depending on the ore characteristics and project specifications. The Grizzly Separator will rapidly remove the unwanted oversized rocks, resulting in only the mineral-bearing particles of the ore being processed. This step will also result in the reduction of the amount of material that needs to be processed and the increased selectivity and efficiency of the next stages.

DOVE Grizzly Separators, which can be either Static Grizzly Separators or Vibrating Grizzly Separator, are manufactured in various models and capacities. DOVE Grizzly Separators are integrated with High-Pressure Spray Jet module and complete Hydraulic Network, designed to break the clay sticking to the rock particles and eliminate the risk of losing the precious minerals that might stick to the oversized rocks due to the clay.

2. DOVE MULTi-STAGE CLASSIFICATION TROMMELS

are spinning cylindrical screens used for the second screening stage in DOVE Portable Gold & Diamond Wash Plants.

Trommel Classifier is a large revolving cylindrical screen installed on a supporting base, in a slightly inclined position. The Trommel’s cylindrical screen spins in order to sort through the material that is being introduced through its feeding end. In a portable processing plant, the Trommel is a major component and is designed to simultaneously break the valuable minerals free from the host clay, and to also classify the particles in the ore according to their size, reducing the volume of material that will be processed in the next stages for optimized performance and increased efficiency of the recovery process.

The Trommel’s design and specifications vary and are extremely important parameters to consider as the trommel’s performance can affect the recovery of the minerals going through to the concentration stages.

STEP 3: CONCENTRATION AND RECOVERY OF GOLD NUGGETS AND COARSE DIAMONDS

Jig Concentrators are gravity concentration devices used in DOVE Portable Gold and Diamond Processing Plants to mainly perform the concentration and recovery of coarse gold and diamonds.

Jig Concentrators are devices widely used for the recovery of various metals and minerals in the mining industry. They are designed to wash, separate and concentrate of various coarse metals & minerals within the ore, based on the specific gravity.

Due to the jigging motion that the particles in the slurry are subjected to, their settling time is accelerated with respect to their specific gravity, which allows for separation over a selected screen mesh size to occur.

Jig Concentrators are the most important and essential devices in mineral recovery as they have the unique ability to absorb fluctuations in ore grades, tonnage rates and dilution, without any effect on recovery results.

STEP 4: CONCENTRATION AND RECOVERY OF FINE GOLD

DOVE Gold Centrifugal Concentrators are used for the concentration and recovery of fine gold particles.

Centrifugal Concentrators are gravity concentration devices, predominantly used to recover fine particles of free flowing gold and other heavy minerals, especially used in mining operations that do not employ cyanide or other toxic chemicals due to environmental concerns, government regulations or the high cost of cyanide and other toxic chemicals for the gold recovery process.

DOVE Gold Centrifugal Concentrators have advanced features and design, and efficiently recover fine gold particles down to 40 microns (0.04 mm/ 0.0016 inches) particle size by enhancing the gravitational force to optimize separation capabilities.

STEP 5: CONCENTRATION AND RECOVERY OF FINE DIAMONDS

DOVE VBS® Concentrators are designed and patented by DOVE, and are used in DOVE Portable Gold and Diamond Processing Plants to simultaneously concentrate and recover fine diamonds and gemstones from the ore.

DOVE VBS® Concentrators are environment-friendly gravity concentrators that operate with only water, whether clean or recycled.

VBS® Concentrators are used to effectively and efficiently wash, classify and concentrate the fine diamond production (below 2 mm) from the ore in alluvial (placer) deposits.

STEP 6: GOLD ROOM (FINAL GOLD CONCENTRATE CLEANUP AND SMELTING)

1. DOVE Gold Concentrating Tables are used in a Gold Room for the cleanup of the final gold production concentrate.

Gold Concentrating Tables are recognized as the most effective and selective machines for wet Gravity Separation. They are used to separate minerals, even when the minerals’ specific gravity is close in value.

DOVE Gold Concentrating Tables are comprised of wooden decks with ultra-smooth rubber cover and riffle surface and are operating in a horizontal plane, where material with higher specific gravity is separated from material with lower specific gravity.

Head Motion imparts a reciprocating movement to the table’s deck in a horizontal plane. As the material moves across the table, the shaking action of the deck causes size classification and specific gravity stratification. The flow of cross water causes shearing of stratified material and forces it to cascade over the riffle surface of the table’s deck. Lower specific gravity material remains close to the water surface and rides over the riffles towards the discharge end of the table; higher specific gravity material is held back by the riffles, which is closest to the table’s surface, and moving along the table’s deck to the concentrate discharge.

2. DOVE Smelting Furnace is a highly efficient furnace used to smelt metals such as gold, silver, aluminum, brass, which allows for the metals to be converted into a purer form.

A Smelting Furnace is used after the Gold Concentrating Table, to remove the unwanted impurities while melting the gold. The result will be a melted gold and a slag that are separated from each other due to the difference in melting point and density. The slag can easily be removed and the molten gold will be molded into doré bars.

DOVE Smelting Furnace is supplied with hard burned crucibles where the material can be safely melted at high temperature, quartz rods to stir the melted alloy, tongs to safely grab crucibles over the high temperature in the furnace, sliding ingot mold for the creation of doré bars, and stamping tools to mark the doré bars with the desired initials and serial numbers.

Additionally, DOVE Smelting Furnace is supplied with various accessories that aim to keep the user safe during the furnace operation, including high chemical and heat resistant protection masks to prevent users from inhaling any hazardous particles, chemical and heat resistant clothes that are made of leather, and chemical and heat resistant apron that aim to protect the user’s hands and body from the dangers of the chemical and extreme temperature exposure, and safety goggles to protect the eyes from chemicals and hazardous particles.
