DOVE PORTABLE WASH PLANT RECOVERY PROCESS
An efficient Wash Plant’s recovery process of metals and minerals from an Alluvial/Placer deposit should include the following crucial steps:
- Ore Feed.
- Sizing (screening or classifying).
- Concentration, separation and recovery.
Different machines that are configured as components of the Portable Wash Plant will achieve these crucial steps. Skipping any of the crucial steps will result in lack of recovery or loss of the valuable minerals.
The process involved in the concentration, recovery and separation stage is based on the concept and science of “Gravity Separation”.
Gravity separation, also known as Gravity Concentration, is one of the oldest recovery methods in the mining and has been used as a primary form of mineral concentration for centuries. Gravity separation has been tested and approved as one of the best techniques for the concentration of free flowing minerals.
The Gravity separation method consists in separating minerals or metals from one another based on their specific gravity and their relative response to other forces.
In a Gravity Separation process, the metals and minerals are subjected to forces in a medium, such as water, air, or other heavy medium. The response of the minerals and metals to these forces can be enhanced resistance or settling velocity, depending on their specific gravity, which will allow for the separation to occur. This way, valuable minerals and the gangue can be separated from one another due to their difference in specific gravity and response to the various forces in the medium.
Due to its high efficiency and low cost, gravity separation has always been the first method of concentration that is considered when designing a mineral processing plant.
Wash Plants that utilize Gravity separation for the recovery of minerals from alluvial deposits delivered less capital outlay and better security for the high value concentrates.
By using Gravity Separation, DOVE Portable Wash Plants eliminate the costs involved in crushing and grinding of the material, and also reduce the slime losses that usually result from unnecessary and abusive size reduction operations.
DOVE PORTABLE WASH PLANT CONFIGURATION
In a DOVE Portable Wash Plant, every component is crucial for the efficient operation of the Wash Plant and proper processing the ore and high recovery of Gold, Diamonds and other minerals production. DOVE’s unique designs are embedded in each of the Portable Wash Plants’ components to insure the efficient recovery of 100% of the Gold Production, with no loss.
The major components of DOVE Portable Gold Wash Plants, based on the crucial steps required in a wash plants, consist of the following:
STEP 1: ORE FEED
1. ORE FEED HOPPER:
is a big hopper designed to feed the Ore to the rest of the wash plant. This hopper can be a wet or dry type depending on the project’s requirements. The hopper is designed to be fed with earth moving equipment, such as Excavators, Loaders, Dump Truck, or gravel pump, and conveyor belt, with respect to the plant capacity (Tons Per Hour) solids.
DOVE Ore Feed Hoppers are supplied in various capacities, designed and engineered as interconnecting components for easy of logistics, rapid assembly, installation and rapid disassembly at site.
DOVE Ore Feed Hoppers can be designed to fit in standard shipping containers for the cost efficiency of freight.
DOVE Ore Feed Hoppers have a durable structure built with heavy cage of steel 5-12 mm to ensure that they stand the severe conditions of the mining site. In addition, they are designed to be easily connected to high-pressure Hydraulic spray-Jets system, Hydraulic Manifold and piping system. Their slurry ore outlet is designed to easily connect to the Static or Vibrating Grizzly.
2. HYDRAULIC MONITOR:
is a powerful Hydraulic Canon that sprays highly pressurized water and is used to effectively break the clay contained in the ore at early feeding stage. The canons are used in wet ore feeding system and when the Ore has high clay content. Additionally, they offer assistance with the logistics of the Ore, in the form of Slurry, into the Ore Channels and to the next processing stage.
DOVE Monitors are built with casted hardened steel (high carbon) and have a bronze or hardened steel head. To ensure that they can be operated during long hours under extreme weather conditions, the DOVE Monitors are supplied with an Operator Cabin Stand Structure. DOVE Monitors are durable and designed to operate using recycled water in the mining site.
DOVE Monitors have a proven history of durability and high efficiency when handling the recycled water, as the water used on mining sites is often recycled, containing clay and sand.
3. Ore Channel, also known as Slurry Channel,
is designed to rapidly transport of ore using gravity, in its slurry form, from one stage to another such as from the screening stage to the classification stage, and throughout the Portable Wash Plant.
DOVE Ore Feed Channels are exclusively designed with clay breaking Hydraulic network and High Pressure Spray Jet system. DOVE Ore Feed Channels are built in various dimensions according to the processing capacity and to the ore logistics volume requirements of the wash plant, as well as the specific ore characteristics and site conditions
DOVE Ore Feed Channels are also available with mesh security cover, to eliminate operator’s access to the ore in transit.
In order to eliminate the friction and wear of the steel channel, DOVE Ore Feed Channels are exclusively Rubber lined. The rubber lining also speeds up the logistics of slurry Ore and eliminates clogging of the channel by transiting solid. These unique and unparalleled features make DOVE Wash Plants the number one desired solution for every mining company.
STEP 2: SCREENING (SIZING):
Screening is the action of separating the materials according to their size by simply passing them through a screen or a number of screens, which can be in motion or static. Screening can be done in multiple stages to achieve higher efficiency.
1. GRIZZLY SEPARATORS
come in various sizes and are used for the first screening stage of DOVE Portable Wash Plants. Grizzly Separators are designed to screen the large oversized rock particles from the ore, prior to being transported, through slurry channels (wet feed) or belt conveyors (dry feed), to the next stage of classification. The screen mesh sizes are specifically chosen according to the ore characteristics and project specifications.
The rapid elimination of the large unwanted rocks by the Grizzly Separators an essential step, which will prevent the large rocks from going to the Classification and concentration stages. This means that only the mineral baring ore is processed throughout the next stages of the Portable wash plant, hence, reducing the amount of material that needs to be processed and eliminating damages that could be caused by the rocks on the long run.
Configured with High Pressure Spray Jet module and complete Hydraulic Net work, DOVE Grizzly Separators are designed to break the clay sticking to the rock particles. This eliminates the risk of losing the precious minerals that might stick to the oversized rocks due to the clay.
2. A Trommel Classifier
is, essentially, a large cylindrical screen, installed on a supporting base in a slightly inclined position, which spins in order to classify the material that is being introduced through its feeding end.
The Trommel is designed to perform classification of the ore, as well as breaking valuable minerals free from the host clay and is a major component of a Portable Wash plant. After being freed from the host clay, the materials are classified according to their size, hence reducing the volume of material that will be processed in the next stages and increasing the recovery process’ efficiency.
The Trommel’s design and specifications are extremely important, as it can directly affect the recovery of the minerals in the stage of Concentration.

STEP 3: CONCENTRATION AND RECOVERY
are Gravity Concentration devices designed and mainly used in mineral processing for washing, separation and concentration of coarse metals & minerals within the ore, based on their specific gravity. These concentrators subject the particles within the ore to a jigging motion in water, which enhances their settling velocity with respect to their specific gravity, while separating them over a selected screen mesh size.
Jig Concentrators are widely used in the mining industry to recover various metals and minerals given the high specific gravity differential of material makes recovery possible. Jig Concentrators are the most important and essential devices in mineral recovery because of their unique ability to absorb fluctuations in ore grades, tonnage rates and dilution, all without any effect on recovery results.

2. Centrifugal Concentrators
are gravity concentration devices mostly utilized to recover fine particles of free Gold and other heavy minerals during mining operations.
They are used in mining projects that require recovery method of fine particles of free flowing gold other than Cyanide, or other toxic chemicals, due to environmental concerns, Government regulations or the High Cost of Cyanide and other toxic chemicals for gold recovery Process.
DOVE Gold Centrifugal Concentrators have advanced features and design. DOVE Centrifugal Concentrators utilize the enhanced gravitational force (G-Force) of the particle to optimize separation capabilities and to efficiently recover fine gold and other heavy minerals particles.
Additionally, to efficiently process and to nearly recover 100% of every fine-sized particles of gold, down to 40 microns (0.004 mm), DOVE Centrifugal Concentrators only require surface recycled water.
NOTE: For the recovery of Particles of sizes bellow (0.004 mm), DOVE Flotation Machine is recommended.
DOVE Centrifugal Concentrators are supplied with locking mechanism, Complete Hydraulic System and high pressure multistage water pumps, Ore feed Module including slurry pump and sump tank for feed monitoring, hydrocyclone and rubber fish tail as concentrate moisture adjustment mechanism and to monitor the flow of solid particles and to prevent freezing conditions.
2. DOVE VBS® Concentrators
are designed and patented by DOVE for simultaneous concentration and recovery of fine particles production of various metals and minerals, such as precious metals, base metals, ferrous metals, Diamonds and Gemstones.
DOVE VBS® Concentrators are completely environmentally friendly gravity concentrators, which provide completely chemical or mercury-free operation, and operate with only clean or recycled water.
VBS® Concentrators are effectively used for the efficient washing, classification and concentration of fine metal and mineral production from the ores in Alluvial (Placer) deposits, such as Precious Metals, Precious and Semi-Precious Stones, Base Metals, Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals, Noble Metals, Heavy Metals.
4. DOVE CONCENTRATING TABLES
are special shaking tables used for the final stages concentrate cleanup process in DOVE Portable Wash Plants.
Concentrating Tables are agreed by all to be the most effective and selective machines for wet Gravity Separation. They are used to effectively separate minerals from one another, even when each mineral’s specific gravity is close in value to that of others in the ore.
DOVE Concentrating Tables are composed of wooden or aluminum decks, that can have either have a rectangular or diagonal shape, with ultra-smooth rubber cover and riffle surface or are operating in horizontal plane, where material with higher specific gravity is separated from material with lower specific gravity.
The Head Motion applies a reciprocating movement to the table’s deck in a horizontal plane and as the material moves across the table, the shaking motion of the deck causes size classification and specific gravity stratification.
The flow of water crossing the deck causes shear in the stratified material and forces it to stream over the rifle surface of the table’s deck. The material of lower specific gravity continues to float near the water surface and spills over the riffles, towards discharge end of the table. Material higher specific gravity is held back by the riffles, near to the table’s surface, and moves along the table’s deck to the concentrate discharge.
